Tribute to Roger Drouin

Roger J Drouin, Jr. 11.19.51 to 1.14.10

Roger was a dental technician for over 30 years. He and his wife Terri founded Dental Illusions Laboratory together in Michigan. He was an artist in that field. His real love though was wildlife, SEA life. They moved to the Florida Keys in 2003. Roger and Terri founded Quickfish Creations in 1999, making dolphin flukes out of gold and silver. Each one so specifically detailed. Each tail is different as our own fingerprints are different. He made many people very happy with these flukes. His compassion for the dolphins and manatees was shown in his effort to help save a baby dolphin too weak to lift its head above water to breath and also in the many times he participated in the rescue of manatees tangled in fishing line. Roger's talent and artistry became heightened when he designed jewelry with his trademark gemstone, the Larimar.

His time here had come to an end on January 14, 2010. He was a very optimistic, strong and tough person which kept him going during the numerous unsuccessful surgeries over 15 months time. He had a deep love for his daughter Holly, granddaughter Josee and wife Terri. He is free now; with a new life on a different plane of existence. His spirit lives on within our hearts. May he enjoy the Light of God. May we all learn from his experience, his determination, patience and love.

Hopi Prayer

Do not stand at my grave and weep;

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die.
